I Know, I'm a Slacker!

Warning: A cliché is about to be put forth! Where has time gone? When my elders used to tell me about time progressing faster and faster the older I got, I never believed them. Now, I am living it. An entire month came and went in the blink of an eye.

First, if you are still checking my blog for updates, thank you. Secondly, I am committing to commit more time to update this blog, as well as devote more energy and brain power to a few other extracurricular projects that I have in mind.

February proved to go by quicker than any month ever has. I threw a 30th birthday party for Emil, helped plan a women's retreat for church (and attended it), had quality time with friends, late evening date nights with Emil, and just tried to keep up with life in general.

Emil's party was a success. The menu for the evening was BBW style, and included items such as; Lucia's Mini Cornbread muffins, Emil's Kountry 'Slaw, and Chico-would-eat-it-all-if-he-could pulled pork, among other delectable BBQ eats. It was a finger lickin' good ole time!

Lucia's Uncle Jeff and Aunt Gina left the warmth and sunshine of Dallas to visit us here in Seattle last weekend, and we all had a great time. Lucia took to them right away, and had an amazing time. It's great to see her developing relationships with family members, even at this age. She loved them!

Lucia even ate Chinese Dim Sum for the first time while Jeff and Gina were here. She loved it!

We are anticipating a great time of celebrating our little angel's first birthday. Lucia's Nonno and Nonna (Emilio & Augusta), and Grammy and Papa (Cindy and Rod) will help us celebrate Lucia's no-doubtedly memorable first birthday. We simply cannot wait. She continues to be a light in our lives. She radiates JOY every minute of the day. She is shine's in the love that God has given her, and to us, serves as a daily reminder to live our lives with joy to the fullest measure.

On a fun party planning note, I found some great pinwheels and party decor that will almost certainly bring smiles to her face!

(Notice Chico's paw!)

I hope that this satisfies the need for a recent update, for now. I will surely get back and update this quicker than I did last time, or at least I hope to. I'll close with pictures of us with Lucia the evening of Emil's party.
